Joyful Drake


Joyful Drake stars in “Let’s Stay Together” on BET as Tasha, Stacy’s (Nadine Ellis) fab younger sister. Tasha’s profession is being a happy housewife and mother to twins. Her husband Jamal (RonReaco Lee) considers himself lucky, though Tasha does know how to bring the drama!

Let’s Stay Together premierd strong on BET Tuesday night.BET is on a roll with scripted shows after making their reputation off of music videos and reality TV. “Let’s Stay Together” and “The Game” as surprising ratings boons for BET, a sign that the network expects to continue its viability in the future without the heavy dependence on music it’s had in the past.  The Game and Let’s Stay Together premiered strong on BET Tuesday night. According to the network, confirming the numbers Wednesday, 5.3 million viewers tuned in to watch the season five premiere of The Game!

“The Game, garnering 5.3 million total viewers according to The Nielsen Company, was the #1 BET telecast this year, making it cable’s #1 scripted series telecast among 18-49 this season and the #1 cable sitcom premiere this season among households, viewers and adults 18-49,” reports BET.  Following The Game’s strong debut, Let’s Stay Together was watched by 3.5 million viewers.

joyful drake


Actress Joyful Drake, sometimes credited as Joyful M. Drake and Joyful M'Chelle, has appeared in the films “Hair Show” (2004) and “Phat Girlz” (2006, with Mo'Nique) “Beauty Shop” (2005, with Queen Latifah) and “Get Him to the Greek” (2010), with Jonah Hill and Russell Brand. She has also guest starred in “Soul Food,” “One on One,” “Cuts” and “The Game” and plays the role of Tasha in “Let's Stay Together” (BET, 2011). Joyful Drake was born on September 24, 1976, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Joyful Drake made her television acting debut in 2001 when she landed the recurring role of Tamara in the Showtime hit series “Soul Food” (2000-2004). She also portrayed Rhonda in an episode of the now defunct UPN sitcom “One on One” called “Creepin' (2003). It was also in 2003 that Drake made her feature acting debut in “The Look,” which starred Carrie Southworth, Andersen Gabrych and Neal Dodson. It premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on May 8, 2003.
